Flaxseed: KGU raises cultivation forecast for Russia

NUR-SULTAN/OTTAWA. The Kazakh Grain Union expects Russian growers to have again increased the their flaxseed acreage this year. At the same time, according to official authorities, less flaxseed was grown in both Canada and Kazakhstan.

Shipments become more difficult

The war in Ukraine has affected trade transactions in the area in different ways. Due to the military actions and the sanctions against Russia, well-established trade routes had to be restructured in a time-consuming manner, and in some cases deliveries are still impossible. As the European market was dependent on flaxseed shipments from Russia this season, ways and means were nevertheless found here to import the goods - mostly by sea freight.
