Flaxseed: Polish-Belarusian border re-opened

ASTANA/WARSAW. The Polish-Belarusian border was re-opened on Wednesday night. The increase in production in Kazakhstan could cause exports to rise to 670,000 mt in the 2025/2026 season.

Border traffic rolling again

A good week after the end of the large-scale manoeuvres by the Russian and Belarusian armies (Sapad manoeuvres), Poland opened its border with Belarus on Wednesday night. However, the government reserves the right to order border closures again at any time should the security situation change. Traders should be aware of this. The Kazakh Grain Union (KGU) also pointed out that prolonged border closures would affect flaxseed shipments to Poland, Germany, the Czech Republic and Slovakia if transport routes were to lengthen and freight costs
