NUR-SULTAN/MOSCOW. Some market players are trying to push up flaxseed prices by holding back their goods. In China, meanwhile, there are further border closures.

Supplies are shrinking

According to market players, both Russian and Kazakh traders are currently holding back their goods in order to increase prices. This leads to full warehouses in the countries of origin, while the goods are slowly running out on the European market. From January, the trade expects prices of up to EUR 0.72/kg DDP Germany for cleaned brown flaxseed, which is currently trading at EUR 0.68/kg. There is only little demand for golden flaxseed, so there are still sufficient supplies.
