ASTANA/OTTAWA. Logistical hurdles in recent weeks are delaying shipments to the EU. Traders are therefore sticking to their prices despite sufficient availability. Low demand from overseas caused prices on the Canadian flaxseed market to decline.

Logistical hurdles keep prices high

This season's good crop results mean that there should be sufficient flaxseed available on the international market. However, logistical hurdles continue to delay shipments to the EU. While buyers are now waiting for their shipments, suppliers are in no hurry to lower their prices to stimulate demand. This would not ultimately improve availability, as the goods are already there.
