OTTAWA/ASTANA. Flaxseed stocks in Canada are at a record low. Market players hope that growers will take advantage of the sowing season so that the country can consolidate its position in the world market.

USA likely to continue sourcing from Canada

Canada's flaxseed stocks are at an all-time low and if growers do not significantly expand their acreage this year, this will not change in the 2025/2026 season. In its current seasonal forecast, Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada estimates the acreage for the coming season at 207,000 hectares, which would be a small increase of 1.5% compared to the previous year.
