Quality issues in Turkey

Unforeseen challenges are still emerging for hazelnuts concerning crop size and quality. Current production estimates vary considerably with figures ranging between 500,000 mt and 750,000 for inshells. Initial projections of 800,000 mt are unrealistic. Yet, stakeholders reckon that the crop size is not smaller than 700,000 mt, despite extensive bug damages being reported.
