ORDU. Rain has delayed drying for hazelnuts. Much will depend on the TMO in the next few weeks. Buyers in China are showing a different approach to the new season than in Europe.

Delays in higher altitudes

Crackers are receiving arrivals harvested in low altitudes, whereas harvesting is still underway in higher altitudes. As rains have delayed the drying process in the region it may take up to two weeks longer for supplies to arrive. Good news is that the raw material quality is better than last year with some stink bug effect. Yet, kernel size distribution is not clear yet and a few more weeks are required for a clearer picture to emerge.
