ORDU. In Turkey, the official INC estimate for hazelnuts has come under fierce criticism. Exporters, farmers and buyers in Europe and China are seizing their chances.

INC estimate called into question

International Nut and Dried Fruit Council (INC) projections for Turkey's 2025 in-shell hazelnut crop stand at 609,000 mt. However, local institutions such as the Turkish Union of Chambers of Agriculture (TZOB) have criticised this estimate, claiming that it does not reflect actual conditions and may be intended to influence the market. Especially the carry-over supply of 150,000 mt is being questioned, as this contradicts the current purchasing behaviour of exporters who are aggressively trying to cover their requirements.
