ORDU. While exporters spent weeks wondering what confectionary giant Ferrero’s next move would be, the wait is now over for hazelnuts. All eyes are also set on the TMO.

New bids with quite an impact

Although the market was starting to settle, things have now changed dramatically as major buyer Ferrero made a new price announcement last week, the third in this season. This move may have not taken the market by surprise as exporters were expecting a new announcement, yet the immediate impact is clearly being felt. Ferrero increased the purchasing price by TRY 12.5/kg for 11-13 mm and 13-15 mm sized kernels to TRY 265/kg and TRY 270/kg respectively thereby presenting a 5% rise over the previous bids.
