ORDU. Not only has frost again taken centre stage for hazelnuts but the back and forth on US tariffs is also generating a high degree of financial insecurity.

Anxious wait

Sea level temperatures approached freezing in Ordu on Thursday night and sub-zero temperatures in high altitudes have caused great concern in the market. Judging by the latest weather forecasts the risk is high that frost and cold may cause extensive damage in the orchards, especially on Friday and Saturday night. Snow is also forecast in the Eastern and Western Black Sea areas.
