A bakery, snack or confectionery industry without hazelnuts would be unimaginable. Hazelnuts are popular in different shapes and sizes (nougat, brittle, whole nuts etc.). Turkey and Italy are largest global producers. Azerbaijan and Georgia also play a big role for the European market. Global production amounts to an average of 950,000 mt every year.
