Hazelnuts: Limited raw nut supplies in Turkey

ORDU. The prices on differ noticeably in Turkey. Problem is that the traders calculate their prices with different base prices.

Small volumes are cheaper

Fewer and fewer suppliers are prepared to sell their raw nuts at the current price level. This week, the prices for natural kernels, 11-13 mm have again risen by 0.50 TRY/kg.

Contrary to this, there currently are more sellers than buyers in the export market. There are hardly any enquiries for larger delivery volumes. Exporters do, however, offer good prices for small volumes they already have in stock. This means that buyers who regularly purchase small volumes are currently getting away cheaper than buyers who purchase large volum

SANTIAGO. According to Chilenut’s most recent shipment report the volume of shelled walnuts clearly exceeded the volume of inshell walnuts exported in December. Asia no longer is the top destination for inshells. Europe still is the largest buyer for shelled walnuts.
