Quality issues fuel supply speculations

Concerning news in the market is that weather conditions have become a major risk factor. In Ordu, roughly two weeks of rain have caused difficulties drying new-crop hazelnuts. Some producers are reportedly taking their nuts to other places for better drying conditions. According to newspaper and news portal Ordu Yorum some nuts kept under covers have even started to show darkening and potential rotting because they cannot be properly ventilated.
