TMO uptake to be decisive

Farmers’ response to the TMO, quality and demand are the key issues for hazelnuts in Turkey at present. With the offers issued by the Turkish Grain Board ranging 40% above free market prices exporters are anxiously waiting to see in how far farmers will be tempted to sell to the state-run organisation. Should the organisation purchase more than expected, market prices will certainly approach the higher TMO level of TRY 250/kg (USD 5.18/kg).
