Hazelnuts: waiting for Ferrero

ORDU. While the new hazelnut crop will be arriving any time soon, Ferrero is expected to issue a bid price. Turkey is very much confronted with political-economic problems.

Limited trading activities

The hazelnuts are currently laid out to dry and everything looks good as marker players report. Warm dry weather has also been forecast for the next few days. Traders and crackers are currently preparing for the arrival of the new crop, which may already be available by the end of the week.

Trading is, however, largely subdued and free market prices still range nominally below TMO prices. While exports continue, domestic demand is very weak. Speculators are holding back with political statements that may influence the market
