Mustard seeds: Canada's outlook for 2019/2020

OTTAWA/MOSCOW. Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada has adjusted its import estimates for mustard seeds in 2018/2019. This has an impact on supplies in 2019/2020.

Demand is on the rise

Canada has imported a total of 9,000 metric tonnes of mustard seeds in 2018/2019. This figure ranges higher than initial estimates of 8,000 metric tonnes. Total supply estimates have consequently risen to 236,000 metric tonnes. Agriculture and Agir-Food Canada has in addition raised the import estimates for 2019/2020 from 7,000 metric tonnes to 8,000 metric tonnes. Consumption is also expected to increase over the next few months.
