OTTAWA/MOSCOW. According to Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, mustard seed production is expected to rise to 145,000 metric tonnes in 2020/2021.

Since farmgate prices are expected to rise to CAD 700-730 per tonne this season, acreage may also increase. These increases are, however, not expected to be as large as in 2018/2019, partly because of the competitive pressure from Eastern Europe. Nevertheless, the price level may decline again to CAD 680-710 per tonne in 2020/2021.
