PEKING. Rains have delayed arrivals in China and supplies are running low. Market players reckon that no carry-over stocks will remain for Hsuji.

The harvest is set to begin towards the end of September and the first shipments should start towards the end of October. The weather remains the only factor of uncertainty.

Prices are starting to drop

Old crop supplies are starting to run low in the US. Meanwhile the new crop is developing well and the farmgate prices for deliveries in November/December have already started to drop.

After the disastrous start to the harvest season in Argentina, about 90% have now been completed. The processors and suppliers are busy meeting running contracts. Contracts are still available for shipments in September/October. Market players reckon that, similar to last year, supplies of small sizes (50/60 and smaller) are relatively low.
