Local crop estimates undercut expectations

Farmers and exporters in Turkey have not only confirmed that production will be low this year, but their estimates also undercut initial expectations. While the International Nut and Dried Fruit Council (INC) anticipates an in-shell production of 136,450 mt in Turkey this year, which would still be up on last year’s 114,600 mt, local estimates rather range at 100,000 mt.
