Pistachios: only limited impact on exports

TEHRAN. Exports have been strong for Iranian pistachios this season so far. The conflict with Israel and the US has only had a limited impact on shipments. A severe heatwave is currently gripping the country.

Strong exports

Exports have remained strong for Iranian pistachios. In shell-equivalent exports rose to 171,000 mt in the nine-month period of 22 September 2024 to 21 June 2025, which marks a 63% surge on the same period in 2023/2024 as the Iran Pistachio Association (IPA) reports. Drivers are competitive prices, limited supplies in other producing countries and a sharp rise in global food industry consumption of Iranian pistachio kernels.
