Hype sparks run on pistachios

After going viral on TikTok demand has soared across the world for Dubai chocolate, a candy bar inspired by the Middle Eastern dessert knafeh containing a shredded phyllo pastry called kataifi and a sugary syrup called attar along with layers of cheese or pistachio cream filling. First produced by Dubai-based Fix Dessert Chocolatier the hype around this bar is posing quite a challenge for confectioners across Europe. Although keen to meet overwhelming demand, they are confronted with limited pistachio supplies.
