Dried apricots: Record prices for unsulphured fruit

MALATYA. Farmgate prices have reached a new record high, while export prices are heavily dependent on buying behaviour in the second half of the season.

Strong dependency

Most of the products have now been shipped to the traders, exporters and speculators, who are in no hurry to pass them on for the time being. Almost 35,000 metric tonnes of whole and processed dried apricots have been shipped overseas since the start of the season, which are about 700 metric tonnes less than last year. Traders are busy fulfilling their current contracts, and there are hardly any additional enquiries.
