Almonds: pre-Christmas sales support market

MADRID/SACRAMENTO. Prices continue to pursue their upward trend on the spot markets in Spain. The situation is, however, different in the export market.

Largueta almonds are trading lower

Prices have risen by up to EUR 0.10 per kg at the commodity exchanges in Murcia, Albacete and Reus, only few prices have remained stable. Organic Valencia almonds are trading higher In Albacete, at EUR 8.75 per kg, they are quickly approached the EUR 9.00 mark.

Many traders are offering firm prices for Marcona and Valencia almonds and nominal declines have been witnessed for Largueta almonds. Although the Christmas sales are still providing support, demand is expected to decline and new arrivals from California should press
