Dates: sharp rise in exports

BUSHER. The Busher Province is the third largest producing region in Iran. Annual production ranges at 5,000 metric tonnes. Market players are, in addition, highly satisfied with the export rates.

Exports rise by 34%

Iran has exported 17,000 metric tonnes since April, which is a sharp rise of 34% over last year. Market players are also very much satisfied with the export volumes of the new crop, which started to arrive in September. As much as 10,500 metric tonnes have been shipped overseas this season so far, which is an increase of 27% over last year. Annual production ranges at 167,000 metric tonnes, of which 25,000 metric tonnes tend to be exported, thereby generating IRR 11,500 billion. Zhahedi dates is the main variety exported from Busher.
