NUR-SULTAN. The upcoming Chinese New Year is curbing demand from China for flaxseed from Kazakhstan. Producers are afraid to be left sitting on their supplies.

Traders delay correction

Flaxseed traders in Kazakhstan took the opportunity to offer their goods primarily to Chinese customers who were prepared to pay significantly higher prices. Due to the approaching holidays, however, enquiries from China are declining noticeably. In addition, market players expect that the falling vegetable oil prices will affect the flaxseed market as well, as there are sufficient supplies available.
