Sunflower seeds: low demand for bakery kernels

SOFIA. After February started off with considerable fluctuations in price, the market for unhulled sunflower seeds has now stabilised again. Demand for bakery kernels is, however, rather subdued.

Prices cannot go down any further

After black black in-shells, with a 96% purity, were trading at EUR 3.63 per kg CPT Varna at the beginning of February, prices have now settled at EUR 3.58 per kg CPT Varna. Demand is high on the domestic market, as many buyers still need sunflower seeds to meet existing contracts. This is preventing further declines in price.
