AYDIN. While exports are once again down on last week, buying interest has reportedly revived. There is, however, no uniform market price.

Warehouse supplies are cheaper

The price gap for dried figs ranges at USD 300-400 per metric tonne in the export market. The thing is that suppliers, who have ample stocks at their disposal, are able to offer cheap rates. Suppliers who, by contrast, rely on free market supplies that are very much limited cannot compete. The prices for large sizes, however, range high as offers are limited. Production estimates will be issued in a few weeks. Only then will it become clear in how far the current adverse weather conditions have a negative impact.
