SOFIA/CHISINAU. There is still no sign of relaxation in the sunflower seed market. Prices at a high level, with many suppliers being reluctant to offer.

Disappointing results

Moldovan traders report major problems with hulled kernels. According to their own information, they could obtain just 200 kg of bakery kernels from 1 mt of sunflower seeds. In addition, some farmers have started to offer their farmgate goods on commission - without concrete prices. This poses enormous risks for the traders, who fear that the farmers might charge a much higher price for the raw material in the invoice than they calculated when selling the processed goods.

Price indications remain high
