Flaxseed: Canada surprises with uptick in yields

OTTAWA/NUR-SULTAN. Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada has issued a surprising revision on this year's production. Harvesting is more than 50% complete in Manitoba.

Supplies rise to 626,000 mt

Harvesting is largely complete In north-western Manitoba, but yields are still to be assessed. Work is also progressing in the central region, where yields currently range at 35-45 bu/acre and in the Interlake region where yields range at 20-45 bu/acre. More than half of the sown fields have been harvested in Manitoba. Flaxseed is trading at CAD 507.06/mt EXW Manitoba (approx. EUR 324/mt).
