Flaxseed: EU crop estimates corrected downwards

OTTAWA/NUR-SULTAN. The European Commission has revised its estimate of the EU flaxseed crop downwards . Meanwhile, farmgate prices in Canada continue to increase.

Harvest in Manitoba makes good progress

Of the 49,805 acres sown in Manitoba, 81% have now been harvested, the 3-year average is just 41%. In the southwest, the harvest is progressing well, with yields varying between 20-30 bu/acre. In the northwest of Manitoba, the harvesting process is considered virtually complete, but no yield estimates are available at this time. Meanwhile, the Central Region has completed the harvest with good yields of 35-45 bu/acre, whereas the Interlake Region is still in the process of harvesting and shows a very mixed result of 20-45 bu/a
