OTTAWA/NUR-SULTAN. Market players fear that some flaxseed contracts cannot be fulfilled. At the same time, side effects of the ethylene oxide scandal in the sesame seed market are also being felt in the flaxseed market.

Flaxseed as an alternative for sesame seeds

According to traders, many customers have now filled up their stocks, but it cannot be excluded that problems may arise in the fulfilment of some contracts. Price indications for Eastern European flaxseed, brown, with a 99.9% purity are currently at a level of EUR 0.630-0.645/kg DDP Germany and are thus cheaper than last week.
