CHRUDIM. Activities are still rather subdued in the blue poppy seed market in the Czech Republic. The wait-and-see attitude of the sellers in connection with harvest delays and the coronavirus situation...

... have already prompted year-on-year exports to decline by 37% to 969 mt in August. The situation has certainly not improved since then.

Prices to range lower than EUR 2.00/kg

This situation is highly untypical as the months following the arrival of the new crop up to the turn of the year normally are the strongest in terms of export performance. This year, however, the lack of demand and a production of 29,000 mt should drive down prices in the long run.
