Pistachios: mismatch in US production estimates

SACRAMENTO. The recently issued INC production estimates do not match arrivals in the US. In addition, US exports range 4% lower than last year.

Sharp rise in production in Turkey

The International Nut and Dried Fruit Council estimates global production at 989,800 mt, a 52% rise over last year. On year production has quadrupled in Turkey to more than 300,000 mt. Although the nuts here are smaller, the quality and taste are said to be very good.
