FRANKFURT. Monitoring of the oilseed sector with day-to-day price comparisons.

After several days of public holidays, the Indian markets opened today for the first time this week. Accordingly it was still quiet there. The prices for unhulled sesame seeds at origin were relatively stable at USD 1,450/mt FOB India. On the European spot market, however, significantly higher prices are being called for, which are also accepted by many customers due to the current ethylene oxide problem. Natural sesame seeds are traded at around EUR 1.93-1.95/kg DDP Germany, for hulled sesame seeds with a 99.98% purity, buyers have to pay around EUR 2.35-2.37/kg DDP Germany.
