ORDU. The decision of Turkey's central bak to raise the interest rate by 4.75% has given the lira a nominal lift. Export prices have, however, taken a rather surprising turn. Market players are now waiting for Ferrero.

Export prices decline, despite lira gaining in value

The lira gained some momentum with the key interest rate now ranging at 15 percentage points. Analysts had, however, reckoned that the hike in the interest rate would have a stronger impact. Ferrero's withdawal from the inshell market, nevertheless, prompted a decline in export prices at the end of last week. Exporters are taking advantage of this trend to refill stocks at low prices, which they can then sell to Ferrero at higher prices.
