Sunflower seeds: high prices for deliveries in Q2

SOFIA. Market players expect a calmer market during the Christmas holidays. Meanwhile, buyers will have to reckon with surcharges for deliveries from Q2 2021 onwards.

Prices as high as in spring 2013

The spot prices for Bulgarian bakery kernels are now at a level of EUR 0.95-0.96/kg FCA, depending on the supplier there may be slight variations. Occasionally, cheaper offers can be obtained on the European spot market, where the price indications are around EUR 1.00/kg DDP Germany. Overall, prices have risen by around a third compared to the same period last year and reached this level last time in spring 2013. Buyers who want to plan ahead and order shipments for the period March to May 2020 must expect prices of EUR 0.9
