Saffron: hope for record exports

TEHRAN. In the first eight months of the Iranian calendar year, the Iranian saffron market recorded a significant increase in exports.

Export volume increased by 25%

Between March and October 2020, 192 mt of saffron worth USD 117.51 million were exported from Iran, marking a 25% year-on-year increase in saffron exports. More than 80% of the export volume is concentrated in five of the 53 export markets. Market players are confident that saffron exports can set a new record this season if this trend continues.
