BEIJING. In less than two weeks, China will celebrate the turn of the year. Market players hope for more normality after the holidays.

Demand situation calms down

The comparatively high number of new coronavirus infections in China in recent weeks caused rising nervousness among Chinese pumpkin seed traders. Demand was correspondingly high as roasters and exporters tried to secure their raw material stocks. In the meantime, the situation has calmed down again and prices have settled at the current level. Depending on the supplier, there are variations of USD 10-70/mt. Freight costs seem to have peaked for the time being at USD 4,500 for a 20' FCL, and even USD 6,000 mt for shipping a 40'
