BEIJING. After the Chinese New Year, export prices for pumpkin kernels remain at their high level and, especially in the GWS market, the price range is increasingly diverging.

Massive year-on-year price increase

The first full working week after the holidays starts with unchanged high price levels in the Chinese pumpkin seed market. While offers for Shine Skins from various exporters differ by only a moderate USD 50-100/mt, there is a gap of more than USD 300/mt in GWS offers. Current price indications for Chinese pumpkin kernels, GWS, grade A are USD 3,270-3,600/mt CFR Hamburg, which is up to USD 1,000/mt more expensive than a year ago. The high freight costs of USD 4,500 per 20' FCL have a considerable impact here.
