Flaxseed: first non-official crop estimates

OTTAWA/NUR-SULTAN. While the flaxseed market still lacks official forecasts for the 2021/2022 season, experts are venturing initial predictions.

Cultivation may rise by 23%

According to Eugeniy Karabanov of the Kazakh Grain Union, last year's drought meant that Russia's flaxseed crop was not quite as good as hoped for. Kazakhstan's production did not suffer quite as much from the weather conditions. Official forecasts regarding the 2021 flaxseed sowing in Russia and Kazakhstan do not yet exist, nor is there a date for publication.
