NEW DELHI. In the current tender from South Korea, India emerged as the big winner, with more than 70% of the requested quantity being contributed by Indian suppliers. Meanwhile, sowing for India's summer crop is also progressing well.

India decides tender in its favour

South Korea requested a total of 9,000 mt of standard quality sesame seeds through this week's tender, divided into two shipping periods of 4,500 mt each. The result was announced on Friday. India secured a total supply share of 6,600 mt, which is about 73% of the total. Pakistan (1,200 mt), Niger (600 mt) and Nigeria (600 mt) also succeeded in securing a share. Both the most expensive and the cheapest bids in this case came from Indian suppliers.
