ATLANTA/MEXICO CITY. Mexico and the USA remain the most important producing countries for pecans this season. The farmers and also the exporters are very satisfied with the results so far.

Record crop in the US

In the production estimates recently published by the USDA and the International Nut and Dried Fruit Council (INC), Mexico and the USA can hold their own by far as the most important producing countries for pecans. While Mexico's crop volume declined by just under 4% and is estimated at 164,308 mt for the 2020/21 season, the US increased its production by more than 18% to 137,145 mt, which is the largest crop in the country's history.
