Cashews: African producers have ambitious plans

HANOI/ACCRA. Good exports in Q1 of 2021 have Vietnamese exporters feeling positive. In the African growing countries, the hope is for noticeable production increases in the coming years.

Export value down significantly

Vietnamese cashew exporters are very satisfied with Q1 of 2021. According to the latest data from the Vietnam Cashew Association (Vinacas), a total of 108,000 mt was shipped overseas between January and March, corresponding to an export value of USD 634 million. Compared to the same period in 2020, the export volume increased by 13%, but the export value fell by 6%.
