SACRAMENTO/SANTIAGO. The Chilean walnut crop will soon be available on the market. However, large parts of it have already been committed.

Rising prices for light kernels

In the US walnut market, prices for light kernels and larger calibrations are increasing, in some cases they are not being offered at all. The situation is different for the darker walnut kernels, which are still being offered at very attractive prices, as there are still sufficient supplies available. On the European spot market, US walnut kernel halves, Chandler, 40% are currently being traded for EUR 5.65/kg FCA Spain, which is about EUR 0.05/kg less than a month ago.
