CHRUDIM. Favourable weather conditions increase the hope for a good poppy seed crop in 2021 and the fields are in good condition. The focus of market players is therefore increasingly shifting to the new season.

New crop in the focus of market players

While prices in the Czech origin remain largely stable, the firmer Czech koruna ensures higher export prices. Price indications for blue poppy seeds, <10 ppm morphine are at EUR 1.96/kg FCA Czech Republic this week. The 2021/2022 poppy seed season starts in the Czech Republic in about two and a half months. After the surprisingly high demand of the past weeks, enquiries are now decreasing more and more, as are the available stocks.
