Hazelnuts: experts expect global production to increase

ORDU/REUS. Last week, the International Nut and Dried Fruit Council (INC) hosted its online congress where the production data of the current season and the forecasts for the coming season were discussed.

World crop estimated at 1.18 million mt

In retrospect, it should be mentioned that the 2020/2021 hazelnut production of almost 1.08 million mt was even better than originally expected (INC 2020 estimate: 1.038 million mt). However, the sales market was overestimated; currently, end-of-season stocks of 126,400 mt are to be expected while originally, the experts had reckoned only 56,600 mt.
