DALIAN. Things are not quite that normal in the off season for pumpkin seeds in China. Contrary developments are also taking place.

Not quite as quiet as normal

As East Dawn Food report the market may be in a seasonal lull, yet the new crop has sparked quite a bit of activity. With fumigation underway in many factories processing is reduced and international demand is low as buyers are waiting for the new crop. July and August are, in fact, rather quiet months. Things are, however, a bit different this year. Issue is that the anticipated raw material shortage has prompted early stockpiling with speculators expecting prices to rise. Price signals are mixed.
