DALIAN. Trading on the Chinese pumpkin seed market remains rather sluggish, with few new deals being concluded. EU-grade export goods are in short supply. Prices have fallen.

Limited market activity

Following the Chinese New Year, trading activity on the pumpkin seed market remains low. In the main growing regions, production has not yet fully resumed in some areas. The stocks available on the market are predominantly in the hands of wholesalers and speculators; consequently, a wait-and-see attitude generally prevails among market players.

In Xinjiang, individual processing plants are preparing to fulfil existing orders. In Gansu, the focus is on reducing stock levels. Although there are isolated enquiries, these have not yet led
