Pumpkin seeds: farmers demand higher prices for the new crop

BEIJING. In the Chinese pumpkin seed market, prices are currently boosting each other. Stocks are tight, and at the same time pumpkin seeds are being bought in the domestic market for the upcoming holidays.

Goods in short supply on the free market

The new pumpkin seed crop is not yet available on the Chinese market and will take another few weeks. Until then, supply will remain tight. There are hardly any goods on the open market, instead a few large companies are said to still have around 20,000 mt of pumpkin seeds in stock. They take advantage of their position and offer them at correspondingly high prices.
