Pumpkin seeds: GWS prices plummet

DALIAN. By now, everyone who has anything to do with the Chinese market has noticed just how bad the situation is, and how this affects the market and its participants.

 

How far can they drop?
The farmers have not sold nearly as much as they would have liked. Instead, they are withholding their products, hoping for a better day. This has been in vain up to now.

Even though demand has increased somewhat over the last weeks – primarily from the US – it cannot be assumed that the market will fully recover. If nothing else, this resulted in a minor price increase for pumpkin kernels, Shine Skin, Grade A. At the same time, GWS kernels are offered at increasingly low prices by individual traders.

Lower yields are easing the pressure on the Canadian flaxseed market. Market players are speculating that Kazakhstan will export large volumes to the EU.

In Sudan, peanut exports have fallen significantly as a result of the conflict there. In Argentina, poor weather conditions have led to a decline in both volume and quality.
